The Playhouse Company is always looking for new members to join the teams which put on 3 or 4 productions a year.   Actors are only a small part of the team.  Generally there are more people behind stage than on the stage!   We will never turn anyone away as long as they can work as part of a team and be prepared to learn.  You are welcome to spend any amount of time helping on a show.   To get involved straight away please contact our membership secretary.

A good way to start is to help with Front of House where you meet and greet the public before the show.

You don't need to be able to act to get involved there are many areas where you can put your talents to good use:

Backstage

Crewing

A number of people are usually needed (numbers depend on complexity of the production) to help with the running of the show - movement of set furniture, or curtains etc.

Props

To acquire the necessary props needed for the show: furniture, set dressing, crockery, personal props for the cast such as spectacles, pens etc.  Needs to be involved during the early stages of rehearsal to get a clear idea of what is required, and allow cast to rehearse with props as early on as possible.  Needs to be backstage during the performances to assist Stage Manager and Cast with props.
